Tye tossed in a total of 19.2 innings in 2009 and earned a decision in two contests. He lowered his ERA to his lowest point at 2.25 in tournament play against Kansas State on Feb. 26. The Tigers dropped that game by a score of 7-4, but Davis kept his team competitive in the game, holding the Wildcats scoreless through four innings of relief. He was rewarded with a start in his next appearance against San Jose State on March 7. The start against San Jose State was Davis's longest outing of 2009, as he went 4.1 innings deep into the game. In addition to that contest, Davis secured a starting role as a pitcher against California on March 17 and on the road at San Francisco on May 5.<b>Previous School (American River College):</b><br>In 2008, Tye completed his career at American River College in Sacramento, Calif. As a sophomore he pitched 32.1 innings with the Beavers and compiled a 4.45 ERA and a 2-2 record under head coach Doug Jumelet.<b>High School:</b><br>Davis graduated from Marysville High School in 2005 as a four-sport athlete. He earned letters in basketball, football, soccer and baseball throughout his time with the Indians. In 2005, Davis posted a 5-2 record with a 2.04 ERA for the baseball team. As a senior he was named to the all-league team in basketball and was his team's MVP as a freshman.<b>Personal:</b><br>Tye Davis was born in Marysville, Calif., and is the son of Jeff and Julie Davis. He has three siblings, Caien (20), Shonna (18) and Jaycee (23), who was a 2007 Pacific graduate. In his spare time, Tye enjoys golfing, surfing, dancing and playing water polo. In his second year at Pacific, Tye is a business finance major, seeking a future career in business finance or law.
